Hi, I'm Joe Rackham, a seasoned bicycle mechanic with over 15 years of hands-on experience. I'm very excited to launch my new business, The Bike Racks, dedicated to keeping your bike in top condition.
Offering a convenient pick-up, maintenance and return service, I aim to take the hassle out of bike repairs by bringing my expertise straight to your doorstep. Whether it’s a simple tune-up or a complete overhaul, my passion for cycling and commitment to quality ensure your bike will always be ready to hit the road or shred the trails.
I’m Joe, the founder of The Bike Racks. I’ve worked in every kind of bike shop and even supported pro riders, but what I love most is helping people discover the joy of riding.
As someone who’s 6’8”, I like to think I bring a higher perspective, literally and figuratively, to the world of biking. I’ve ridden trails in New Zealand, France and the USA and started The Bike Racks to share my passion to make riding accessible for everyone. Let’s get you rolling!
At The Bike Racks, my goal is simple: to share my love for bikes and help more people experience the joy of riding. Whether you’re looking for the perfect gear, advice or inspiration, I’m here to help you get rolling.
From Bedford in the north to Stevenage in the south and everywhere in between.
I understand life can be busy, so I offer a free collection & delivery for Service Levels 1, 2 & 3.
For smaller or Bespoke jobs:

Pickup & Delivery within 20 miles: £20

To make life easier, I've created three levels of standard service for your bike. If you can't see exactly what you need in any of the options, that's fine, just use the Contact Form to let me know your specific requirement.
Maybe your bike's been sitting in your shed for a while and is now in need of some TLC to get it back out on the road or trails. Or perhaps you've noticed that things aren't quite right when changing gear or attempting to stop... That's where a Level One Service can help get you sorted.
Here's what's included:
You've been riding hard, keeping the wheels turning through the cold winter months, but all that weather has caused a few problems that now need sorting out.
A Level 2 Service does just that, ensuring all the major components are in top condition, ready to take on your next adventure.
You're a competent home mechanic, proud that you can keep your bike running well, but sometimes things just don't feel right. It's time to go deep and take your maintenance to the next level.
A Level 3 Service is what you need, comprising:
1. All service level costs shown DO NOT include the cost of any replacement parts. If replacement parts are needed as part of the Service, a quote will be provided prior to any further work being carried out. Once agreed, parts will be ordered and fitted as soon as they arrive. Customers may prefer to purchase any replacement parts but these need to be delivered to The Bike Racks for fitment. The Bike Racks will not be responsible for the re-ordering of any customer ordered parts that are incorrect.
Just to give you an idea of pricing for specific requests, here are three examples:
